The Bear Season 3 to Premiere in June, Will Likely Be a Binge Release Again

The Bear has made a reservation for Season 3.

Hulu’s Emmy-winning culinary dramedy will return for its third season in June, FX chairman John Landgraf announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Friday. (FX produces the show as a Hulu exclusive.) He added that Season 3 will likely be a binge release again: “The way [creator] Chris [Storer] makes it, even though the episodes are separate, there’s a whole vibe to the season.” So for Season 2, “we just decided not to change what we already set in motion” with Season 1’s binge release, “and I have no doubt we’ll just keep doing it… Even if we could, I don’t think we’ll change it now.”

The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White as chef Carmy, who turns his family’s Chicago sandwich shop into a fine-dining restaurant after the death of his brother. Ayo Edebiri co-stars as Carmy’s fellow chef and co-worker Sydney, with Ebon Moss-Bacharach as his volatile pal Richie. All three actors won Emmys last month for the show’s freshman season, and The Bear won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series as well, with 10 total wins. “We couldn’t be more proud of all of them and excited to have the show back,” Landgraf said during his press tour address.

Season 2 of The Bear aired last June and will be eligible for next year’s Emmys. The finale ended with Carmy finally opening the restaurant of his dreams, but then locking himself in the walk-in fridge on opening night while his staff took over service.
