An inquisitive bear wandering through Shaver Lake, California, was caught on video licking a trail camera on November 3.
Video captured by Micheline Golden’s magnetic camera mount shows three bears sauntering over to the camera before the largest one sticks its face right up to the lens.
Golden told Storyful more bears have appeared in the area since the Creek Fire burned tens of thousands of acres of forest around Shaver Lake.
“We have had occasional bears near our home there over the years, but this year we have had many more, likely due to their losing range to the fire,” said Golden. “This particular group looks like a mother and two young bears, and they visit the area behind our deck one-two times a week.” Credit: Micheline Golden via Storyful
