BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has landed a new role on Radio 5 Live.
Munchetty will be heard on the mid-morning slot three days a week, Mondays to Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm, starting in January.
The slot was formerly filled by Emma Barnett, who is leaving the radio station to move to Woman's Hour on Radio 4.
Munchetty will still be appearing on the BBC Breakfast sofa from Thursdays to Saturdays.
In a statement, Munchetty, who was a stand-in host on the station over the summer, said: "5 Live has one of the most passionate, engaged audiences in radio.
"The prospect of talking to those listeners every week really excites me.
"I have always wanted to work more in radio and after such an enjoyable experience presenting on the station recently, I jumped at this opportunity."
5 Live controller Heidi Dawson described Munchetty as a "brilliant broadcaster and a fearless journalist".
Dawson added: "She impressed us while working briefly at the station in the summer, when our listeners loved her warmth, wit and straight-talking interview style."
Back in April, Munchetty responded to a Twitter user who wondered why anyone would "feel the need to wear high-heeled shoes" while fronting a news programme.
Munchetty simply responded: "Because I want to." The original tweeter eventually offered an apology to Munchetty, who graciously accepted.
