Bay Area Kite Boarders Rescued After Getting Caught in Gale
A rescue crew helped three kite boarders back to shore amid gale-force winds off the coast of Marin County, California, as seen in footage posted to Facebook on Sunday, May 29.
Video released by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office shows a boat speeding through the water. At the end of the footage, a photo showing a rescued kite boarder is seen.
The kite boarders had been dealing with gale-force winds and waves of 10 to 15 feet, the sheriff’s office said. “Luckily all three were properly prepared with radios and all necessary safety equipment to stay afloat until rescue,” they said. Credit: Marin County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
