Bathurst woman, 37, dies in 2-vehicle collision

A 37-year-old woman from Bathurst is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon in Allardville, N.B.

Chaleur Region RCMP responded to a report of a collision at around 4:30 p.m. between an SUV and a transport truck on Route 160.

The woman, who was the driver and sole occupant of the SUV, died at the scene, according to an RCMP news release.

The driver of the transport truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the SUV crossed the centre line and collided head-on with the transport truck, the news release states.

RCMP say an investigation has begun.
