Barge Drifts Loose From Moorings in Strong Vancouver Winds

A barge broke from its moorings in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Monday, November 15, during extreme weather that brought strong winds and excessive rain to the Pacific Northwest.

Video posted by Paul Albi shows the red barge after it ran aground on a seawall at Sunset Beach in Vancouver, local media reported.

The City of Vancouver closed Burrard Bridge on Monday night “due to the potential risk of the grounded barge at Sunset Beach coming loose and colliding with the bridge." The bridge was reopened early on Tuesday. Credit: Paul Albi via Storyful
