Barcelona fans cheered Xavi’s name as the former player was unveiled as the club’s new head coach at the Camp Nou on Monday, November 8.
The club said Xavi had agreed to become first team head coach for the rest of the current season and the two following seasons.
Xavi won 25 trophies during a glorious 17-year playing career with the club. He made 767 senior appearances, second only to his former teammate Lionel Messi. He takes over as the club languish in midtable, saddled with debts of more than a billion euro.
