Barbara Palvin 'Proud' She Didn't Use a Wedding Planner: 'It Was Everything I Wanted and More' (Exclusive)
"It was just my sister and me doing everything," the supermodel tells PEOPLE of her July wedding to husband Dylan Sprouse
Barbara Palvin is reflecting on her summer wedding to husband Dylan Sprouse, and her decision to skip hiring a wedding planner.
The supermodel, 30, opened up to PEOPLE about her special day, revealing that she's happy she and her family handled the planning aspect of the ceremony themselves.
"I'm very proud of the wedding because we didn't have a wedding planner," Palvin says. "It was just my sister and me doing everything. It was everything I wanted and more."
Palvin, who spoke with PEOPLE about her partnership with Bumble and Bumble, also opened up about her favorite memories from her Hungary wedding, including being able to show some of her loved ones where she grew up for the first time.
"The biggest part was that I finally got to show Hungary and where I grew up to my American friends, and now the American side of my family — my father-in-law and mother-in-law and my brother-in-law and everyone," Palvin says. "So that was obviously the best part, to show them my tradition."
"And the best part was to see how easily my part of the family and my American friends just got along," she adds. "A lot of people don't speak English in my family, but somehow everyone was able to communicate. And it was just such a beautiful thing to see."
Palvin and the Suite Life of Zack and Cody alum, 31, wed in July following their years-long romance. The couple met at a party back in 2017, and later went Instagram official in 2018 when Palvin celebrated her now-husband's birthday on Instagram.
Shortly after their wedding, Palvin uploaded a video montage of their ceremony to the platform, featuring scenes of them being covered in rose petals, dancing together in a field, and some other behind-the-scenes looks — including a glimpse of Sprouse’s twin brother Cole Sprouse in attendance.
“So thankful to everyone who has supported us over the years. We will never forget the memories we made on this day,” Palvin captioned the clip.

The pair also spoke with Vogue about their wedding this summer, as Palvin revealed that "all the people we love and care for" were in attendance at the church — the same one where her parents wed 34 years earlier. A civil ceremony and reception were later held at Harlekin Birtok, an estate owned by her parents.
“We did a few pálinka shots and listened to some traditional Hungarian music as well while playing wedding games,” Sprouse told Vogue of the celebration.
For the wedding, Palvin wore three dresses, eventually wrapping the night in a scarlet-red dress as a nod to her heritage.
“There was no question — I had to wear a Hungarian designer for this one, so I chose Mero,” Palvin told Vogue. “They created the dress of my dreams. It was sexy and sweet but also comfortable — exactly what I wanted.”
The pair will later have a larger second wedding in California, where Sprouse grew up.
Earlier this month, Sprouse shared a birthday tribute for his now-wife to Instagram, which included an image of him planting a kiss on her cheek. "Happy dirty 30 to my wife," Sprouse captioned the carousel post. "Truly, I’ve never enjoyed being drunk on a locomotive before, but you really know how to keep me on my toes!"
