A band marching on June 2 in the Platinum Jubilee Trooping the Colour parade stayed the course despite attempts by climate protesters with Animal Rebellion to interrupt the procession in central London.
Footage from Mark Bartelds shows several protesters climbing over security fences onto The Mall — a road between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square — before being dragged away from the parade by police.
The Metropolitan Police said “a number of arrests” were made for “highway obstruction” at around 10 am local time.
Animal Rebellion said they were protesting due to “the Crown’s inaction on the climate emergency and their continued support for meat, fishing, and dairy, a leading contributor to climate breakdown.”
