LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's BAE Systems said it was investigating the cause of an explosion at its munitions manufacturing plant in Glascoed, Wales, on Wednesday.

Safety protocols were immediately enacted and emergency services attended the site, where shells are filled and packed, the company said.

All personnel were accounted for and there were no injuries, it said.

About 550 people work at the site, which dates back to the Second World War.
