PETALING JAYA, Oct 13 — Malaysian badminton hero Datuk Lee Chong Wei is the newest addition to the bevy of celebrities in Singapore’s Madame Tussauds wax museum.

The exciting news was shared on the museum’s page earlier today, where the former number one shuttler was present at the launch of his wax figure.

“It feels surreal to see a perfect likeness of myself at Madame Tussauds Singapore.

“A big thank you to the team at Madame Tussauds for creating a realistic wax figure of me and I can’t wait for the world to see it.

“I am also extremely honored to be the first Malaysian athlete to grace the Madame Tussauds’ halls,” Lee wrote on his Instagram account.

On social media, fans were full of praises for the badminton legend including Malaysian actress Yeo Yann Yann who congratulated him.

“Truly a legend. The most beautiful moves of a badminton legend I’ve ever seen,” posted @benzhooo.

“Congratulations legend. Thanks for all the happy moments you’ve given us throughout your career,” @saudari_pagi wrote.

The wax museum also held a meet-and-greet session in which lucky winners received two autographed racquets from Lee.

Two years ago, Lee became the first Malaysian athlete to be featured at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong.
