KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 ― If you have ever been away from Malaysia, you probably would know the first thing to miss about home is its delicious food.

Academy Award-winning Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh is no exception.

The Ipoh-born actress said she has already eaten some of her favourite dishes including nasi lemak, curry mee and nga choy kai.

Asked if she has already had her go-to dishes following her return to Malaysia yesterday, Yeoh firmly replied: “Yes, of course.”

“I already had my nasi lemak, curry mee, nga choy kai and hor fun [since I returned home],

“That's why I look so fat,” said Yeoh at a press conference at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

Yeoh returned to Malaysia yesterday afternoon from Hong Kong for her first press conference and fans' meet-and-greet session since she won at the Oscars.

Upon arrival yesterday, she was asked by the press what would be the go-to dish she would be having in Malaysia and she replied: “nga choy kai”.

Nga choi kai is poached chicken with blanched bean sprouts and is typically eaten with rice.

Ipoh is among the towns famous for this flavourful dish.

The 60-year-old will be having a public fans' meet-and-greet session later at Pavilion KL and Berjaya Times Square at 5.30pm and 7.15pm respectively.
