A 'Bachelor' Spin-Off for Senior Citizens Is Happening and They're Already Casting

From House Beautiful

  • During Peter Weber's fantasy suites episode, ABC aired a casting call for seniors who are "looking for love."

  • Warning: Light spoilers below, so if you aren't caught up, you've been warned!

Okay, I totally understand that this week is fantasy suites and there's a ton of drama that's about to go down, but can we PLEASE talk about the fact that ABC is looking to cast for what might be—and hopefully is—a Bachelor spin-off? I mean, I did NOT see this one coming, especially considering the fact that it feels the average age of the women on Peter's season was 22.

However, it was very much Chris Harrison's voice on the casting announcement, saying, "Looking for love in your golden years? We're looking for eligible seniors who want their shot at love."

People also found a bit more information via an Instagram post from a Bachelor producer, which specified that they are looking for "active and outgoing" people who are 65 years old or older and "ready for a committed relationship." Sadly the post did not reveal the name of the new series, but referred to it as "Senior Dating Show."

Oh, and you know that the good people of Twitter were SHOOK by this casting call:

For what it's worth, I personally think that a dating show for seniors sounds charming as hell and will absolutely try and get an aunt or two to audition!
