Baby Shima on running for office: I was just kidding!
28 Jul – Baby Shima was only joking when she announced that she would be running for the State Election as an independent candidate.
The singer, who received backlash after posting a video of her supposed announcement, stated that she was only kidding around and didn't expect people to take her seriously.
"I would never be running for office. Politic is not my field. I'm sure my fans know that I was just joking around," she said, adding that she only made the video to calm the tension.
Aside from the announcement video, Baby Shima also posted another clip of her talking to former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin about her so-called decision and then decided to "cancel" her political plans after Khairy suggested that she runs in Kelantan.
As to the backlash, Baby Shima stated that some people love to make everything she does controversial.
"For example, like the time I fed monkeys and dogs. Even that was turned into a controversy," she added.
