KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition has completed its seat distribution for the six state elections pending a national-level meeting next week, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali reportedly said.

The PN information chief said the national committee on seat distribution would meet on Monday to finalise the process following the completion of the negotiations by the six states, reported The Star.

“We have decided which party gets what seats. We will now move on to the process of selecting the right candidates,” he said in a report published by the English daily.

However, Azmin declined to reveal the distribution percentage among the three participating political parties — Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, PAS and Gerakan.

On Monday, it was reported that discussions related to the distribution of seats among PN component parties for the upcoming elections in six states are expected to be held in June.

It is understood that representatives from the component parties would attend the meeting to reach a decision on the matter before it is referred to the PN Presidential Council.

The state elections for Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor — expected to be held concurrently in July or August — were necessary as the six opted not to dissolve their state assemblies during the general election last year.
