Ayurveda medicines given to Covid-19 patients in Sri Lanka despite little evidence they work

Doctors from Sri Lanka's official Department of Ayurveda are distributing traditional Ayurveda medicines to COVID-19 patients in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The doctors were going door-to-door with the herbal remedies, despite a lack of good evidence for their efficacy. Many scientists and medical experts are concerned that focussing on such treatments at the expense of evidence-based steps to curb and treat infection, will cost lives.
