Authorities Activate Pre-Emergency Phase of Risk Plan as Storm Filomena Lashes Malaga

Authorities in Málaga, Spain, activated the pre-emergency phase of the city’s flood-risk plan on January 8 due to heavy rain caused by Storm Filomena.

This footage, by Macu Pérez, shows the storm battering Playa de la Misericordia, a beach about a 15-minute drive from Malaga’s center.

An orange warning was in place for parts of Málaga due to the storm, which brought wintry weather to much of Spain.
