A foul-mouthed team talk from Australia’s men’s basketball coach was captured live on BBC One on Thursday.

Brian Goorjian dropped an f-bomb as he addressed his players following the first quarter of their Olympic semi-final match against the US.

Just as the camera panned over Goorjian during his impassioned team talk, he said: “Where the f*** is the eye? Where is it?

"They get to the red zone, we cover each others’ backs."

The tirade came as his side was winning 24-18.

However, it’s unlikely too many British viewers would have been offended – for the simple reason relatively few people are likely to have been watching as it was broadcast at 5.35am UK time.

Upon hearing Goorjian’s tirade, the match commentator laughed: “Clear comments from Brian Goorjian."

The co-commentator added: "You can understand the emotion and the passion.

"I think the issue was zonally, sometimes they [Australia] were switching off.”

Australia ultimately lost the match 97-78.
