Audio glitch stalls the War and Treaty's Thanksgiving Day Parade performance: 'There's a little hiccup'
An error with the show's audio track led to an awkward start for the music duo's rendition of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" at the parade.
An audio glitch during the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade led to a stalled start for a performance by Grammy-nominated duo the War and Treaty.
After NBC broadcast cohosts Al Roker, Savannah Gurthrie, and Hoda Kotb introduced the husband and wife pair, singers Michael and Tanya Trotter stood atop a holiday-themed float (complete with a hand-crafted carousel) as cameras rolled, though no music played overhead.
The Trotters looked around in silence as the camera lingered on them, and, after a few seconds, crew members could be heard talking in the background.

The War and Treaty waits to perform during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day ParadeBack at the cohosts' desk, Kotb moved things along while the glitch was sorted out.
"Well, you know what, every now and then, there's a little hiccup. Tiny one! We're getting our music together over there," Kotb said, while Guthrie told the audience that, "It'll be worth it" when the audio returned, as "the War and Treaty are an incredible band."

When the show returned from a commercial break, the audio was back in action, and the War and Treaty continued with their rendition of Darlene Love's Yuletide classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)."
The 2024 edition of the parade included several other mishaps, including a title card that misidentified Sesame Street star Olivia Perez as Broadway legend Lea Salonga, and a Riverdance performer slipping and falling on camera amid rainy conditions in NYC.
