‘Atypical’ Final Season Trailer Released By Netflix (TV News Roundup)

Netflix released the trailer for the fourth and final season of “Atypical,” which will premiere on July 9.

The coming-of-age comedy follows Sam (Keir Gilchrist), a 19-year-old on the autism spectrum as he searches for love and independence. This season will see each character face a challenge they never anticipated as Sam sets his sights on a nearly impossible goal.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Rapaport, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Nik Dodani, Jenna Boyd, Amy Okuda, Graham Rogers, Fivel Stewart will return for the final season.

“Atypical” is created, written and executive produced by Robia Rashid under her Weird Brain Inc. banner. Writer Mary Rohlich and Seth Gordon serve as executive producers.

Fuse Media announced that director Shannon Kring’s “End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock” will debut on June 25. The documentary tells the inspiring story of a group of indigenous women who risk their lives to stop the Dakota Access oil pipeline construction in order to protect their land, water and existence in America. The film also explores the effects of colonization and details the history of U.S. violations of Indian treaties. “End of The Line: The Women of Standing Rock” is produced by Red Queen Media and will air in partnership with non-profit organization Ear to the Ground, which helps the women and children of Standing Rock.

CBS announced that the new one-hour reality series “Secret Celebrity Renovation” will premiere on July 9 at 8 p.m. Hosted by “Entertainment Tonight’s” Nischelle Turner, the series will give stars the opportunity to show their gratitude to someone who has had a significant impact on their life’s journey by making them a heartfelt gift they will never forget. The season will feature Paula Abdul, Lauren Alaina, Wayne Brady, Boomer Esiason, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Chris Paul, Anthony Ramos and Emmitt Smith. Home improvement contractor Jason Cameron and interior designer Sabrina Soto will be featured on the show’s design team. Bob Horowitz, Lewis Fenton and Peter DeVita serve as executive producers.

Additionally, CBS announced that the second season of “The Greatest #AtHome Videos” will premiere on August 20 at 9 p.m. Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, the second season will feature new video categories that reflect the world as it continues to reopen and an array of surprise celebrity appearances. Cedric the Entertainer, Bob Horowitz, Lewis Fenton and Eric Rhône serve as executive producers.

TV Land announced that the final season of “Younger” will make its broadcast television debut on July 7 with two episodes airing back to back at 10 p.m. All episodes of the final season are currently available to stream on Paramount Plus. “Younger” follows Liza Miller (Sutton Foster), a talented editor navigating the highly competitive world of publishing all while juggling the complications of mixing business with pleasure and facing the lie she created about her age to land her dream job. In the final season, Liza’s personal life is on shaky ground as she tries to stay true to herself. After a setback at work, Kelsey (Hilary Duff) doubts her career decisions and discovers a new creative outlet. Meanwhile, Maggie (Debi Mazar) gets canceled. Nico Tortorella, Molly Bernard and Peter Hermann also star in the final season, which features appearances by Charles Michael Davis and Miriam Shor. “Younger” is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez of Jax Media also executive producing. Dottie Zicklin, Eric Zicklin and Alison Brown serve as executive producers and writers on the series. ViacomCBS MTV Entertainment Studios’ Keith Cox and Antonia Covault are the executives in charge of production.

PROGRAMMING

CBS confirmed its daytime roundtable series “The Talk” has been renewed for a 12th season. There’s no word yet on the panel lineup for the 2021-22 season. The show went through a shakeup in March when Sharon Osbourne exited after conflict with fellow panelist Sheryl Underwood.

DEALS

Fox announced that David “Big Papi” Ortiz will join the Fox Bet team for the remainder of the 2021 season. Ortiz will offer his unique, playful and spot-on insight for the highly anticipated MLB All-Star game and postseason this fall. Fox Bet Super 6, an app where users can make six predictions about what they think will happen in live games or events, will introduce the “Win Big Papi’s Money” contest on June 19. Users will have a chance to win real cash in the contest every MLB weekend for the remainder of the 2021 regular season and postseason. Ortiz will also make contributions to the Fox Bet real-money Sportsbook app.

LATE NIGHT

Tonight, Elisabeth Moss, Omar Sy and Valerie June will appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” while “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” will feature Ethan Hawke, Ilana Glazer, Jack Ingram, Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall. “Conan” will welcome Patton Oswalt, while Jon Stewart and Dana Carvey will appear on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.“ “Late Night With Seth Meyers” will feature Luke Wilson, Juno Temple, MARINA and Stevie Nistor, and “The Late Late Show With James Corden” will welcome Hugh Grant, Mike Colter and Tomorrow x Together.
