Ash and Smoke Fill Sky as Mount Etna Erupts

Ash and smoke were seen rising from Italy’s Mount Etna on July 14 as the volcano’s intermittent activity continued.

Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said the lava fountain at the southeast crater ceased and produced “weak strombolian activity.”
