Ash Cloud Rises From La Palma Volcano as Activity Continues

Eruption activity at the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma continued on September 23, with video from the Canary Islands Volcanology Institute showing a plume of ash and gas rising.

The lava from the volcano had destroyed 400 buildings and was endangering more by September 23, El Pais reported, leading thousands of people to be evacuated.
