Arnold Schwarzenegger & Danny DeVito Turn ‘Twins’ Oscars Reunion Into Batman-Bashing

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito took to the Oscar stage 36 years after starring together in the 1988 comedy Twins.

However, the duo gave their reunion a surprise twist.

“Arnold and I are presenting together for very obvious reasons,” DeVito started before Schwarzenegger delivered the unexpected punch line, “We both tried to kill Batman.”

Bonding over their status as Batman villains and their hatred for the Caped Crusader, DeVito and Schwarzenegger spoke of their experience playing The Penguin in the 1992 Batman Returns and Mr. Freeze in the 1997 Batman & Robin, respectively, before DeVito spotted Michael Keaton in the audience.

“The son of a birch is right here,” DeVito said, pointing to the Oscar-nominated actor who played Batman in the 1989 Batman and its followup, Batman Returns.

Added Schwarzenegger, “You have a lot of nerve to show you face around here.”

Keaton was game, putting his superhero image on and raising his fists to show he was ready for a fight.
