KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 — Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new motivational book Be Useful: Seven Tools For Life will be out in October this year.

The 75-year-old former governor of California made the announcement on Instagram with a photo of the book cover, which garnered over 52,000 likes in eight hours.

He posted: “My dad always told me, ‘Be useful, Arnold.’ And every time people come up to me and tell me how my advice has helped them throughout their lives, I can see that it’s useful when I share my life philosophy, rules and tools.

“So, I was finally convinced to sit down and write a book about my philosophy. This way, my tools can be useful for everyone.”

The book attributes Schwarzenegger’s success to the influence of his father, Austrian police chief Gustav Schwarzenegger.

The book’s publisher, Penguin Press said: “All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all — be useful. As Arnold conquered every realm he entered, he kept his father’s adage close to his heart.”

Schwarzenegger’s first book Arnold: Developing a Mr. Universe Physique, was published in 1977.

The Terminator star went on to collaborate with Douglas Kent Hall on another bodybuilding-centric book released in 1979.

The actor subsequently co-wrote further fitness-focused publications with Bill Dobbins.

His most recent book, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, was released in 2012.
