April Fool’s Day was always going to be a bit different this year considering so much actual news sounds like it’s fake right now.

With much of the world in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, most places have steered clear of trying to trick the public with any pranks.

Still, we’ve rounded up everyone who decided to take part, and who hasn’t.

After previously dropping such joke features as the 'mic-drop', Google decided to ditch its 19-year tradition.

Head of marketing, Lorraine Twohill explained: "Our highest goal right now is to be helpful to people, so let’s save the jokes for next April, which will undoubtedly be a whole lot brighter than this one."

This Morning

Last year, Holly Willoughby got flustered when a viewer broke down on the show after getting a makeover, saying she didn't like her new look. Holly was desperate to make amends until Phillip Schofield revealed it was all part of an epic practical joke.

This year they decided to refrain, with Holly saying: "As well as it being Phil's birthday today, it's also April Fools' Day.

"Obviously with everything going on in the world, we're not going to be playing any practical jokes today."

Coronation Street: The Animated Series

ITV shared the exciting news that fans can soon catch up on everything going on in Wetherfield in a brand new animated format.

In a video narrated by Kirk actor Andy Whyment, he said: "Now you can catch up on all the drama, all the romance, but without us actors having to leave our homes."

Although it was a prank, it could probably actually come true if the ITV soap isn’t able to resume filming soon.

The Good Boys

Amazon Video got viewers all excited when they shared on Instagram a doggy spin-off of their show The Boys was coming to the channel.

Titled The Good Boys, the poster showed a very cute Photoshopped photo of some dogs. "We're sat patiently waiting for this TV treat like good boys," Amazon wrote.

11/10 - would watch.

Rio Ferdinand

The footballer couldn't help but prank new wife Kate Ferdinand during one of their many workouts.

Not one to be fooled, Kate informed fans tuned in to their live-workout that the former Manchester United star was "just acting" until he continued to convince her. Thankfully, he later confessed to his prank.
