Here's What Rami Malek Is Up to After His Oscar Win for Bohemian Rhapsody
Rami Malek‘s career is on a high note following his Best Actor win at Sunday’s 91st Academy Awards.
The 37-year-old actor was living his dream as he accepted the award for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody but now it’s back to work for the star.
He can next be seen reprising his role of hacker Elliott Alderson in the fourth and final season of Mr. Robot on USA Network. The season is set to premiere later this year.
While Malek may be saying goodbye to the show, he is welcoming other exciting projects such as a role portraying an animal named Chee-Chee in Robert Downey Jr.’s The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, which is set to hit theaters in early 2020.
And as his professional life is taking off, so is his personal one. The actor passionately kissed his girlfriend and costar, Lucy Boynton, as he stood up to receive his Oscar.
“My mom is in here somewhere, I love you. I love you lady,” Malek said while accepting the award. “My family, thank you for all of this. My dad didn’t get to see me do any of this, but I think he’s looking down on me right now. This is a monumental moment.”

Malek wrapped his speech by shouting out Boynton, 25, who plays Mercury’s former fiancée Mary Austin in the musical film.
“Lucy Boynton, you’re the heart of this film,” he concluded. “You are beyond immensely talented you have captured my heart. Thank you so much.”

He took a slight tumble on the Oscars stage after the award ceremony concluded but was seen in high spirits at the Governor’s Ball where he was seen spraying his fellow partygoers with a large bottle of champagne.
The star has been making the awards show rounds this season, and also picked up a best actor win at the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The 91st Academy Awards were broadcast live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC.
