Anti-monarchy protesters staged a demonstration outside Westminster Abbey in London, England, on Monday, March 13, ahead of the arrival of members of the royal family for Commonwealth Day.
Video filmed by the Twitter account @NoKingCharlie shows protesters holding signs reading, “Not my king.” The owner of the account said they were attending the protest “in support of the British people choosing their own head of state.”
Political group Republic said on social media that it would be holding a protest outside Westminster Abbey on Monday afternoon.
Local media reported King Charles and Queen Camilla would be leading the procession for the Commonwealth Day service, Charles’s first as king. Credit: @NoKingCharlie via Storyful
