Anti-Lockdown Protesters Gather in Dublin on First Day of Level-Five Restrictions

Dozens of anti-lockdown protesters briefly blocked traffic on O’Connell Bridge in Dublin, Ireland, on October 22, local media reported.

The protest was held on the first day of a new nationwide lockdown. Ireland went to Level 5 in its national COVID-19 plan on October 22, which meant all nonessential retail was shuttered, restaurants and pubs could only offer takeaway services, and travel was restricted for most to within a five-kilometer radius of the home.
