Angelina Jolie joins Kylie Jenner as the latest celebrity this week to donate $1 million to help with COVID-19 relief. Jolie gave to No Kid Hungry, which focuses on ending child hunger in the U.S. The organization announced the gift in a statement yesterday. Her money will be used to provide meals for children in low-income families across the country.

Jolie said, “As of this week, over a billion children are out of school worldwide because of closures linked to coronavirus. Many children depend on the care and nutrition they receive during school hours, including nearly 22 million children in America who rely on food support. No Kid Hungry is making resolute efforts to reach as many of those children as possible.”

The organization has so far donated $2 million to 78 organizations across 30 states. This week alone, No Kid Hungry "issued new emergency grants to school districts, food banks and community organizations feeding kids nationwide and in Louisiana, Texas, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Maine, and Oklahoma," according to its statement.

Jolie's donation comes hours after Jenner's $1 million donation to Los Angeles hospitals was announced. The funds Jenner donated will be used to buy protective supplies and masks for doctors on the frontline.

Jenner's doctor, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, shared news of Jenner's donation on her Instagram. She wrote:

I am speechless, my eyes are filled with tears of joy and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. I made a wish to the Universe to gather protective masks for our brave healthcare workers and today my dream came true. One of my patients, a beautiful Living Angel just donated $1,000,000 to help us buy hundreds of thousands of masks, face shields, and other protective gear which we will have delivered directly to our first responders, as too many masks at hospitals are disappearing before making their way onto the faces of our front line heroes.

I have never felt more blessed to be a doctor, as helping our brave ER and ICU workers feels just as gratifying as helping my own patients. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU @kyliejenner ❤️. You are my hero. This generous donation will help save many precious lives. Our world is a better place with you in it. I love you so much.
Thank you X a million....
