Angelina Jolie Is "Doing Everything She Can to Help" Amid the L.A. Wildfires
Starting with opening up her home to friends.
Angelina Jolie may be an award-winning actress, but she's a philanthropist at heart.
Case in point? The actress is "doing everything she can" to help her community amid the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. According to People, Jolie has even opened up her Los Feliz home to friends this week after they were forced to evacuate their own residences. “Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes, or are impacted by the fires,” a source told the outlet.
They added, “She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate.”
The news comes after Jolie and her son Knox were photographed stocking up on supplies, filling their car with bottled water and groceries. In a clip obtained by the Daily Mail, the Maria star was asked if she planned to donate toward the fire relief efforts, to which she responded: “Yeah, I will, right now I’m taking care of the people close to me and having them at my house.”
So far, the fires—which began in the Palisades and spread to Pasadena, the Hollywood Hills, and Sylmar—have displaced more than 80,000 people, destroyed as many as 10,000 buildings (including homes and office buildings) and resulted in at least 11 deaths, according to CNN.
Jolie joins a long list of other celebrities doing their part to help those impacted by the wildfires. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry handed out food and supplies to victims in Pasadena, and like Jolie, they also opened their home to displaced friends and loved ones, while Jamie Lee Curtis donated $1 million to relief efforts.
