Angelina Jolie and Daughter Vivienne Support Friend Kristen Bell at “Reefer Madness: The Musical” Opening Night
"She just said she wanted to come out and support, which I thought was a lovely gesture," producer Bell tells PEOPLE of Jolie supporting her at the Los Angeles event

On Thursday, May 30, the mother-daughter duo supported the actress' friend Kristen Bell, 43, at the opening night of Reefer Madness: The Musical at The Whitley in Los Angeles.
Jolie, 48, wore a chic black suit that she teamed with a white t-shirt featuring a printed gray tie to the star-studded event, while Vivienne, 15, donned a pair of black trousers and a matching vest that she wore over a pale blue shirt. Kristen, meanwhile, looked stunning in a long black dress featuring sheer detailing.
Produced by Bell and Alan Cumming, Reefer Madness: The Musical brings the cult classic back to the stage in what the website calls an "immersive theatrical experience." The Frozen actress previously starred in 2005's Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical as Mary Lane, alongside Cumming.
While speaking to PEOPLE about attending the musical's opening night alongside Jolie, Bell praised the Eternals star for her "lovely gesture" of support.
"She didn't give me any advice. She just said she wanted to come out and support, which I thought was a lovely gesture, particularly for a project that is launching in Los Angeles where it's not the biggest theater community, or it maybe has a different identity than a New York community," Bell tells PEOPLE.

Her and Vivienne's latest red carpet appearance comes after PEOPLE confirmed over the weekend that the teenager had seemingly dropped her dad Brad Pitt's last name from her own name.

In the Playbill for The Outsiders, which Vivienne helped her mom produce, she is listed as “Vivienne Jolie" instead of "Vivienne Jolie-Pitt," PEOPLE confirmed on May 26.
It was not immediately clear if Vivienne has legally changed her name. Representatives for Jolie and Pitt could not be reached for comment when contacted by PEOPLE at the time.

The former couple also share kids Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne's twin brother Knox, 15.
Last month, Jolie spoke to PEOPLE about being a lead producer on The Outsiders alongside her co-producer daughter Vivienne.
"She'll correct me," she said of the teen. "She'll say, 'Didn't you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this.'"
"She's been a really tough assistant," Jolie added. "She takes it very, very seriously."
