Andy Reid reportedly returns to Chiefs after precautionary hospital visit

The Kansas City Chiefs didn't lose their head coach for long. Andy Reid returned to the team Tuesday after a brief stay at the hospital, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Reid left Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance following the Chiefs' 30-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Reid, 63, was reportedly stable, and the trip to the hospital was considered precautionary.

Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu expressed concern for Reid, asking fans to pray for him.

Reid was released from the hospital Monday. He was not present to meet with the media, so defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo filled in. Spagnuolo told reporters Reid was "feeling better." The team announced Reid would likely return to the building either Monday night or Tuesday.

Chiefs take on Eagles in Week 4

Reid and the rest of the coaching staff will look to turn things around when the Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. The Chiefs are an uncharacteristic 1-2 after two straight losses. The team's only win came in Week 1. They prevailed over the Cleveland Browns 33-29 despite trailing the majority of the contest.

The Chiefs could get things on track against Philadelphia. The Eagles have also lost their last two games, including a Monday night defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys scored 41 points during that game.

The Chiefs' offense is known for its ability to put points on the board. As long as Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offense is right, this could be a good spot for the Chiefs to put up the dominant victory that's eluded them so far.
