KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 11 — Parents are always willing to go above and beyond to ensure the quality of their children’s education.

It turns out one of them is Hong Kong megastar, Andy Lau who is said to pay almost RM80,000 per year for his daughter’s school fees.

Lau was seen attending his 10-year-old daughter Hanna’s school concert on December 2 through pictures uploaded to Chinese social media platform, Weibo.

Online users were quick to deduce Hanna’s school to be Victoria Shanghai Academy in Aberdeen, Hong Kong.

The private international school is a prominent academy in Hong Kong, known to have alumni who have continued their studies abroad at the most expensive universities.

The school also uses the International Baccalaureate syllabus which is taught in English and Mandarin. As such, primary school fees cost around HK$140,000 (RM79,178) a year.

If that wasn’t expensive enough, students are also required to pay an enrollment fee of RM34,000 for what the school claims are ‘improvements to resources and facilities’.

Lau has admitted to being a dotting dad to Hanna when it comes to her studies, helping her with online classes and homework during the pandemic.
