Andy Lau enjoys working with Sean Lau

18 Feb – Sean Lau was not the only one who felt the pressure of working with a star like Andy Lau 19 years since their last movie together, as the latter himself recently admitted that he also felt the same way about working with the award-winning actor.

As reported on Mingpao, Andy, who sat down for an interview to promote their new movie, "Shock Wave 2" recently, stated that they have tried several times to collaborate on a project together, but missed every time due to their conflicting schedules. However, he was surprised to find that the tacit understanding between the two of them was still there when they were reunited in the said movie.

"I was worried we would not be able to cooperate well, but we were a good fit. We checked the manuscript together to make clear of the relationship between the two characters, and when filming started, we were able to work in great harmony. Even the people behind the scenes felt that our responses to one another were very good," he said.

Praising Sean for being a great actor, Andy stated that it was easy to impress others when one is sparring with a familiar actor while others need time to adapt slowly. Nonetheless, he admitted that he and Sean didn't communicate much privately as the other party was less talkative than him.

On the other hand, when asked how the pandemic has affected him, Andy said that three of his movies and two of his concert shows had to be suspended last year.

"We originally planned to announce the concert after this Lunar New Year, but we're waiting for the arrangement right now. Even most of our fan club activities had to be held online," he added.

Andy, who has been spending a lot of time at home teaching his daughter Hanna, also expressed hope that the pandemic will ease soon, so that he will be able to begin work for his new project.
