Andy Cohen Says Sarah Jessica Parker Is the 'Best' Met Gala Date: 'I Hit the Jackpot' (Exclusive)

"I lucked out," he said of his friendship with the 'Sex and the City' actress

Andy Cohen couldn't ask for a better Met Gala companion than Sarah Jessica Parker.

The Watch What Happens Live host, 55, attended the star-studded fashion event in New York City on Monday, May 6, with the Sex and the City actress. The two arrived hand in hand and posed for photos together.

While on the red carpet, Cohen told PEOPLE that Parker, 59, makes for "the best date in the place."

"I lucked out," he added with a smile. "I hit the jackpot."

On Instagram, Cohen, who wore a Berluti tux, wrote, "One of the perks of my life is escorting Cinderella to the ball."

This is Parker's 12th Met Gala appearance. She and Cohen have been each other's dates more than once to the big night, the last time being in 2018.

Parker told Vogue about her elaborate outfit for this year, designed by Richard Quinn, saying she was going for the artistic vision and didn't care about her own comfort level in the corseted getup.

"Your own comfort, it becomes very low priority,” she told the outlet. “The priority is trying to present properly. It’s your responsibility to take care of the elements, on behalf of the designer, the milliner, hair stylist, makeup artist. This year, I’ll be standing."

While on The Howard Stern Show back in 2023, Parker said, "I love Andy," and discussed their longtime "real" friendship.

"We've come along way. In the beginning we kept bumping into one another and we had mutual friends, but it wasn't a friendship that was easy," she said, explaining that their bond evolved after they went to theater together and spent more time. "... It just changes."
