Andrew Yuen annoyed by people disrespecting quarantine order

26 Mar – Hong Kong actor Andrew Yuen recently expressed his annoyance over some irresponsible people not complying to the 14-day mandatory home quarantine despite the severity of the pandemic.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke to the media about the issue, stated that he couldn't help but get angry with a certain segment of the population who still go out to drink, as well as those who litter when they go out to eat or on their mountain hikes.

The same could also be said about Hong Kong citizens who just arrived from overseas and are not respecting the mandatory quarantine order.

"First, you have to think of the reason why you are back in Hong Kong. We are also facing the pandemic. Can't you hold it for two weeks? Can't you think of the medical staff who have been working hard for two months? It is selfish of these people to infect other people just so they can feel good about themselves. These people really need to be punished," he said.

At the same time, Andrew said that he is all for the government suspending cinemas in Hong Kong, though restaurants should be allowed to continue operation.

"Closing down restaurants may greatly impact the public. We can always take care of our hygiene better. But I am not a doctor. I can't speak from a professional perspective," he added.
