KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 — The Ancom Crop Care scholarship programme for Penang-born university undergraduates was formally opened for online applications today.

Students from Penang who have been accepted into any degree programme except medicine and dentistry with a local university, public or private, are eligible apply for the scholarship.

Those who have yet to receive their university admission letters may also apply provisionally using their STPM or A-Level results.

The scholarship is also open to university students pursuing their second, third and final years.

Successful applicants will receive up to RM10,000 each to go towards their tuition fees over the course of their studies.

Recipients of the scholarship will need to sign a two-year bond with Ancom Crop Care, from which they may be released at the company’s discretion.

Applications may be submitted to the Ancom Crop Care and Ancom Nylex websites.

Ancom Crop Care launched the scholarship programme in April at an event attended by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

Chow said the scholarship would go a long way towards assisting the state in ensuring financially underprivileged students were not left behind.
