Amy Poehler recalls sitting next to “SNL” host Christopher Walken in complete silence for 20 minutes
Spooky behavior.
Amy Poehler recently shared her memories of working with Christopher Walken on Saturday Night Live when he hosted back in 2008.
That episode, Walken's seventh and last time hosting SNL, featured a Walken family reunion, with everyone trotting out their best (and their serviceable) Christopher Walken impressions. In that same episode, Poehler spent the longest time ever "not chitchatting with someone" while blocking a sketch with the legendary actor, she related on a recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast when she popped in via voice memo.
"Everybody did their Christopher Walken, and, of course, there were great impressions," Poehler recalled of the "Meet the Family" sketch. "And then there were people like myself who don't have an impression, but I think because it was so bad, it was good, maybe? And that short little wig. I was playing a young girl, and I just got a laugh on the word spooky, which, is fun to say as Christopher Walken. Spooky behavior."

"I also remember that I was in a sketch with Christopher Walken," the Parks and Rec star continued. "Usually, when you're blocking a sketch, you chitchat with people, and we just sat in silence next to each other for, I would say, 20 minutes. Probably the longest I've ever sat not chitchatting with someone ever, who hosted the show, but he was still a delight."

A member of SNL's hallowed Five-Timers Club, Walken has had many memorable moments on the variety series since his first stint hosting in 1990, though none as memorable as Bruce Dickinson from the 2000 "More Cowbell" sketch. Walken has hosted so often he even has a recurring character, The Continental, a debonair gentleman who believes he's a "ladies man," but is constantly rebuffed for his sexually predatory behavior.
