Amirudin: Pakatan-BN still undecided on two more Selangor seats, Anwar and Zahid to decide final candidates
CHERAS, June 23 — Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said today the alliance between his coalition and Barisan Nasional (BN) still cannot decide on which candidates to contest two seats in the state election.
The caretaker Selangor menteri besar said the federal coalition still has ample time to decide, and the final candidates will be decided in a discussion between both pact’s chairmen, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“The discussion is almost complete. There are only two seats left. It will be discussed by the prime minister and his deputy soon,” he told reporters after performing Friday prayers at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Mosque here, referring to Anwar and Zahid.
He also hinted that there will be some new faces among the candidates, with the incumbents making way for them.
“There will be incumbents and there will be new faces by both parties,” he said.
There are 56 seats in the Selangor state assembly, 45 of which are held by PH and BN.
On June 19, Amirudin said the two coalitions have mostly finalised seat negotiations for the state election.
He also said discussions were ongoing for seats in Negeri Sembilan, Penang, and Terengganu.
