Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was transported to a Berlin hospital for treatment on Saturday, August 22, following what his supporters said was a suspected deliberate poisoning, according to German media.
Navalny, who remained in a coma, was airlifted from Omsk, Russia, to Berlin’s Tegel airport, and was then transported to the Charite hospital by the German military.
The hospital was carrying out “extensive” diagnostic tests on Navalny and would not make an official comment before Monday, according to Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
