Amazon MGM Lands Zombie Package ‘I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale’ From Ryan Gosling’s General Admission

Amazon MGM Studios has landed I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale, a zombie feature package based on the same-name adventure-comedy short story from Adam and Daniel Cooper, aka The Cooper Twins.

The story is set in a “post-post-apocalyptic” world where former zombies struggle to reintegrate. Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson will produce the film under their first-look deal with the studio through recently launched banner General Admission.

When The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider broke the news of the package earlier his month, he reported that Gosling is also attached to star. We’re told that there’s no truth to the assertion, and that no casting attachments have been made. The Coopers will script the feature adaptation.

Coming off of an Oscar nomination for his role as Ken in Warner Bros’ record-setting pop culture sensation Barbie, Gosling can currently be seen starring opposite Emily Blunt in The Fall Guy, the action comedy directed for Universal by David Leitch, which Gosling also produced. At present, he’s producing and starring opposite Anatomy of a Fall‘s Sandra Hüller in Project Hail Mary, Amazon MGM Studios’ long-awaited adaptation of the sci-fi novel from The Martian‘s Andy Weir, which Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing from a script by Drew Goddard.

While Gosling was at one point also attached to star In Blumhouse/Uni’s Wolf Man, as well as The Actor, a crime drama from Anomalisa‘s Duke Johnson, he remains involved with both of those projects only as an executive producer. In addition to his feature directorial debut Lost River, other producing credits for Gosling include White Shadow, Only God Forgives, ReGeneration and Blue Valentine. We were first to report on both the launch of General Admission and its first-look deal with Amazon MGM back in March.

Identical twin brothers Daniel and Adam Cooper have written and directed several award-winning short films, which have received acclaim at such festivals as Cannes, TIFF, HollyShorts and Hamptons. With a background in creative marketing, they have directed content and edited trailers for the world’s highest-grossing movies at all the major studios and streamers including Disney, Warner Bros, Netflix, and Apple, earning between them a Daytime Emmy, more than 100 Clio Awards and 50 Golden Trailer Awards.

Gosling is represented by CAA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. The Coopers are repped by CAA, manager Aaron Folbe, and Paul Hastings.
