Amanda Holden has insisted she isn’t a conspiracy theorist after appearing to criticise the lockdown extension.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 50, has been quite vocal about COVID restrictions after 'Freedom Day' was pushed back from 21 June to 19 July.

She highlighted a speech in which former Prime Minister Theresa May spoke of the need to allow people to travel and seemed to compare life in the UK to life in dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale by sharing a meme from the TV adaptation which said: "Welcome to Gilead under Boris' eye."

The star – who is often in the headlines for flashing a bit of flesh in her racy TV outfits - has now shared a poster for an upcoming anti-lockdown march and suggested that it wouldn’t get much news coverage even if she attended in revealing swimwear.

However, Holden insisted she is still not a conspiracy theorist.

Posting the picture of the march poster on her Instagram Story, she wrote: “Even if I wore a #bikini to this it wouldn’t get reported!

"Odd that?

"And just to be clear – I’m double vaccinated and not a conspiracy theorist.”

Earlier in the pandemic, Holden broke lockdown rules by travelling more than 200 miles to see her parents in Cornwall, when only essential journeys were allowed.

However, her agent later said in a statement that she made the trip after receiving a “distressing” phone call from her dad.

"Amanda is aware of the travel rules and is devastated she had to break them on this one occasion," her spokesperson said.
