KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 — Singaporean actor and singer Aliff Aziz has announced that he will no longer act with Sophia AlBarakbah in the future as part of an agreement with his wife Bella Astillah.

He was speaking to the media on Wednesday at the promotions of Ku Akad Kau Dengan Bismillah which he starred in with Sophia.

Bella had previously revealed that Aliff’s co-star had called her husband up to eight times every day, apart from contacting the husbands of other actresses.

The 31-year-old actor said although his wife had not named the woman who had allegedly been trying to get close to him, he was only working on one drama at the moment and Sophia was his co-star, Harian Metro reported.

“I understand Bella is fragile and we openly discussed and settled the matter maturely.”

“We sat down together, discussed rationally and communicated about the issue,” he said, confirming what was revealed by Bella as true.

“I know Bella, she will not issue a statement without investigating. She will not throw a fit if it is not true,” he added.

Aliff admitted that the issue was due to his own doing.

“No one anticipated the controversy would blow up. I take this as a warning from God so that when there is filming in the future, to maintain boundaries.”

Meanwhile, Kosmo! quoted Aliff denying the controversy was made up to promote the show.

He said he would not use such a gimmick to gain popularity or to get higher ratings for the drama.

“It is not a gimmick. I will not agree to such a thing just to raise the ratings.”
