Gary Neville loved what he saw from new Manchester United hero Alejandro Garnacho after the substitute came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner at Fulham on Sunday.
United had been pegged back at Craven Cottage after Red Devils old by Dan James cancelled out Christian Eriksen’s opener for the visitors but Garnacho provided late drama to sweep home in the third minute of added time.
The victory moved United to within three points of fourth-placed Tottenham in the race for the Champions League spots.
And speaking after the final whistle, Sky Sports commentator Neville raved about the young forward.
He said: “He sent the Manchester United crowd into mayhem.
“If you’re a young player at Manchester United and you’re a forward you’ve got to have arrogance, you’ve got have an ego and he looks like he’s got that. Passion as well. He’s just delivered a moment of absolute brilliance.
“He’s broken Fulham’s hearts, they played so well in the second half with Dan James scoring. But Garnacho is the hero.”
Saha stunned by Garnacho impact
Former United and Fulham striker Luis Saha was equally impressed with Garnacho, telling Sky Sports: “I think it’s brilliant, he lifted everyone the way he took that goal.
“It was a brilliant scenario for everyone who loves football. But for United in particular it’s brilliant. He’s just a kid of 18!.
“He’s an impact player and when you have someone like that, it gives everyone confidence.”
