Alberta Man Climbs Up Tree to Escape Aggressive Bull Moose

An Alberta man was chased up a tree after a bull moose tried to attack him while on an evening walk in Red Deer on January 3.

Local resident David Meredith chronicled the encounter from the safety of tree limbs, as the moose stared at him and ran circles around the tree.

In the video, Meredith can be heard yelling at the animal to try and scare him away. After about ten minutes, the moose gave up and ran off in the distance.

Speaking to a local radio station, Meredith said that he stayed in the tree for an additional ten minutes after the moose left to make sure he was safe.

“The hardest part was jumping down and running because this thing could’ve caught up with me,” he said. Credit: David Meredith via Storyful
