Alamak! Ikea Singapore sells their misprint reusable bags for cheap
With a wrongly printed website URL on their Klamby reusable bags, Ikea Singapore touts their bags as limited, unique, and alamak (likens to ‘OMG’ in Singlish), selling them at a discounted price of S$1.90.
On 15 Jan, Facebook user Alicia Cho shared a photo of the wrongly printed bags. She wrote, “Ikea has S$1.90 reusable bag coz (sic) of their printing error...I wonder who approve the design before printing...how can make such a mistake.”
With “www.Ikea.co.sg” printed on the bags instead of their legitimate website “www.ikea.com.sg”, Ikea wrote on the sign above the bags, “At Ikea it’s OK to make a mistake. We printed the wrong website address on the Klamby reusable bag, but because it’s reusable, we won’t scrap them.”
The Swedish furniture chain also cheekily added that the bags are “limited edition and they won’t be back!”
They are also selling the Klamby reusable bags with the error at Ikea’s online store, although nothing had been highlighted about the wrong website. In the product description, it simply wrote “Takes little room to store as it folds flat. Also suitable for waste sorting.”
