Alabama Sky Lit Up by Lightning During Thunderstorm

Lightning flashed across the Alabama sky as thunderstorms hit the state overnight on June 8, according to the National Weather Service.

Video posted by Cheneal Wimberley shows the lightning streaking across the sky in the northern Alabama city of Moulton.

The NWS issued a special weather statement for the area on the evening of June 7, warning of 40 mph winds and penny-sized hail.
