Alabama Restaurant Owner Uses Remote-Controlled Car to Deliver Check in Safe-Distancing Exercise

The co-owner of the East Shore Cafe in Daphne, Alabama, staged an exercise in safe-distancing early Sunday, March 22, by using a remote-controlled car to show how he could deliver a check to a customer.

As of Sunday morning, there were 138 confirmed cases of new coronavirus, COVID-19, across Alabama. Officials have encouraged residents to practice safe-distancing in order to combat the spread of the virus.

“This was purely to give a bit of light hearted laughs. That is the owner and his mother after they had both washed their hands and were sure to do so right after,” a representative of East Shore Cafe told Storyful. Credit: East Shore Cafe via Storyful
