Alabama Neighborhood Hit With 'Life-Threatening' Flash Flooding

Heavy rainfall caused “life-threatening” flash flooding in parts of Alabama on Wednesday night, October 6, the National Weather Service said.

Video shared to Twitter by Melanie Sloneker shows lightning flashing as water coursed through the Hidden Creek neighborhood of Pelham around 9:41 pm on Wednesday night, Sloneker said.

Pelham officials said 82 people were rescued from their homes, and an additional 15-20 from their vehicles, by more than 100 emergency responders.
