Al Roker asks Ana Gasteyer if she likes her 'stuffing moist' as “SNL” alum reunites with Molly Shannon for “Delicious Dish ”revival

Al Roker served up an unexpected quip as he interviewed Ana Gasteyer at the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The longtime broadcaster chatted with the Saturday Night Live alum Thursday morning on the sidelines of the annual New York City event, where the pair previewed NBC's upcoming 50th anniversary special celebrating five decades of SNL excellence.

During their chat, Roker asked Gasteyer about the revival of her iconic Delicious Dish sketch with fellow cast member Molly Shannon for a new Capital One commercial, which sees the duo making hilarious double entendres while playing innocent public radio hosts alongside Samuel L. Jackson.

"I would think today, it has a lot to do with stuffing," Roker joked, "In that it's moist out. Do you like your stuffing moist?"

Gasteyer smiled as she responded, telling the TV personality, "Yeah, in their case, those characters would probably prefer a dry one."

The actress added that reprising the role was "super fun," and she loved being able "to dust off the old vest and turtleneck" for the ad.

Further reflecting on participating in SNL's 50th anniversary special, Gasteyer told Roker she's thankful for the connections she made during her tenure on the iconic TV series from 1996 to 2002.

"It's honestly just friendships at this point," Gasteyer said when Roker asked what she remembers most about her time on the program. "I'm so lucky because I'm friends with so many wonderful, talented, hilarious people who make me laugh in such a consistent way, and creating characters there together that we still laugh about today. It's a gift I'm quite aware of."

The SNL 50th anniversary special will air Sunday, Feb. 16, on NBC.
